I'm excited to begin prepping students for Avanti's concerto competition this summer! The winner will play with the Detroit Symphony Chamber Orchestra, and there's no better instrument to play with a chamber orchestra than oboe!!!

Congratulations to high school student Lauren G. (Walled Lake Northern HS) for purchasing a gorgeous Laubin oboe. The high register sings beautifully with a full, professional tone.
Congratulations to middle school student Sidnie J. (Ferndale MS) for earning a first division on her duet at middle school solo & ensemble. This was her first time ever at solo & ensemble, and she has only been playing oboe for 5 months!!
Congratulations to senior student Brian A. (Shrine HS) for receiving a FULL music scholarship to Oakland University as an oboe major!
Big congratulations to high school student Brian A. (Shrine HS) for competing and winning the Royal Oak Music Scholarship! Brian performed the Saint-Saens Sonata and Cimarosa Concerto, and won $1,200 in scholarship money to put towards his freshman year of college as a music major next year! This scholarship was made possible by the Royal Oak Musicale Foundation. Awesome job!!
Congratulations to former student Myles H. (Interlochen) for being accepted to Vanderbilt University as an oboe performance major!
