<![CDATA[GEOFFREY JOHNSON, OBOE & ENGLISH HORN - Blog]]>Thu, 20 Aug 2026 20:58:31 -0400Weebly<![CDATA[YOLA-YNF 2026]]>Thu, 20 Aug 2026 19:13:15 GMThttps://www.gjohnsonoboe.com/blog/yola-ynf-2026I was so honored to be invited to be on the faculty for the YOLA YNF Festival (Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles - YOLA National Festival) in Los Angeles again the summer for my 5 season.  The students were fantastic and came to the festival from all around the country!  This year's oboe section included students from Seattle, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Boston!  Always SUCH a pleasure to work with these students and hear them grow musically over the course of the festival!  Maestro Thomas Wilkins led the finally performance, and the kids also traveled to Edinburgh to perform and join the tour with Maestro Gustavo Dudamel and the LA Phil after the festival ended!
