Reed making classes are offered separately and periodically throughout the year, as well as instrument repair and maintenance classes.  Classes with no more than 4 students per class allows for each student to get individual attention during the class.  The reed making classes allow the students to both learn to make reeds from scratch, as well as adjust store bought reeds for better performance.  Beginning reed making classes include tying reeds and basic scrapes (including adjusting store bought reeds), intermediate classes include advanced scraping techniques (for specific goals such as response, pitch, and tone), knife sharpening, adjusting reeds, and advanced classes include shaping cane, and gouging, along with gouger setup.  The goal is for all of my student's to eventually gain independence in their reed making, and to make reeds that suit their needs.

Group coachings for ensembles is also available, as well as oboe rental for middle school students (based on availability).

Oboe studio is located in Royal Oak, close to Ferndale, Troy, Madison Heights, Birmingham, Berkely, Bloomfield Hills, West Bloomfield, Farmington, Grosse Pointe and Walled Lake
